Ohio State RB Dobbins named Big Ten offensive player of the week

COLUMBUS — It was an award-winning day for Ohio State on Monday.
First, running back J.K. Dobbins was named the Big Ten’s offensive player of the week. Later in the afternoon, co-defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley was named a finalist for the Broyles Award, which is given annually to the best assistant coach in college football.
Dobbins rushed for 211 yards and four touchdowns against Michigan, and had an additional 49 receiving yards. He became just the fourth OSU running back to rush for 200 yards against the Wolverines. He has 1,657 yards and 19 touchdowns on the season and is second all-time on Ohio State’s career rushing list, behind Archie Griffin.
Hafley and defensive coordinator Greg Mattison have changed OSU’s fortunes on defense in one year. Last season, the Buckeyes ranked 72nd nationally in yards per game and points per game. Ohio State is in the top five in all three categories this season.
