4 Rockets, 2 Falcons claim All-MAC football honors

Toledo’s Bryant Koback, Bryce Mitchell and Bowling Green’s Quintin Morris named to 2nd-team All-MAC.

Four Toledo and two Bowling Green players earned Mid-American Conference postseason honors, as the All-MAC teams were announced Wednesday.

Toledo sophomore running back Bryant Koback and junior wide receiver Bryce Mitchell were named to the second team All-MAC offense.

Koback carried the ball 195 times for 1187 yards and 12 touchdowns, and his 98.9 yards per game ranked fifth among MAC running backs. He added eight catches for 69 yards and two receiving touchdowns.

Mitchell led Toledo in receiving with 35 catches for 679 yards and four touchdown receptions.

Toledo redshirt freshman offensive lineman Nick Rosi and sophomore defensive end Jamal Hines were named third team All-MAC.

Rosi played all 12 games this season for the Rockets at left guard. Hines had 52 tackles, 8 1/2 tackles for loss, and 1 1/2 sacks this season.

For Bowling Green, wide receiver Quintin Morris was named to the second team, and linebacker Kholbe Coleman was named to the third team.

Morris led the Falcons with 55 catches for 649 yards and four touchdowns, while Coleman led the team in tackles with 103 and added two sacks and two forced fumbles.

Central Michigan's Jim McElwain was named MAC coach of the year.

Western Michigan running back LeVante Bellamy won offensive player of the year, as well as the Vern Smith Leadership Award given to the league's top player.

Broncos linebacker Treshaun Hayward won defensive player of the year, Kent State kicker Matthew Trickett won special teams player of the year, and Miami quarterback Brett Gabbert won freshman of the year.
