Hancock County man enters plea to stealing vehicle with baby inside

A Hancock County man who lead police on a multi-county chase in a stolen car with a 9-month-old baby inside entered a plea in Lucas County Common Pleas Court on Monday.
Joshua Gilliland, 29, of Arcadia, entered a no contest plea to failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony; assault, a fourth-degree felony; and abduction, a third-degree felony.
He was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury on Oct. 18 with those charges, as well as receiving stolen property and endangering children, which will be dismissed at the time of sentencing on Dec. 23 before Judge Gary Cook.
Gilliland led police on a chase from Findlay to Toledo and he was arrested Oct. 5 by Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers. The baby was not harmed.
Findlay police alerted troopers and neighboring police departments about a vehicle theft from a residence in the 400 block of Monroe Avenue in Findlay. Troopers spotted the vehicle on I-75 near Bowling Green, which started a pursuit onto I-475 and into Toledo.
After striking two patrol cruisers, Gilliland fled on foot before being captured by a Toledo police dog.
