In-home caretaker pleads not guilty to raping disabled woman

An in-home care employee pleaded not guilty to accusations of raping a mentally disabled woman.
Anthony Hodges, 40, of the 700 block of Vance Street, was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury on Sept. 27 on two counts of rape, both first-degree felonies, on accusations he sexually assaulted a 38-year-old mentally disabled woman who requires 24-hour care.
The assaults occurred between July 14 and July 17, according to the indictment.
Mr. Hodges appeared Wednesday with his attorney, Rashya Cunningham, for arraignment before Judge Linda Jennings in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.
Through his defense attorney, Mr. Hodges pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Judge Jennings previously set bond at $500,000.
A trial date was scheduled for Nov. 12.
