Close, Closer, Closest, a piece by Minneapolis artist Randy Walker, consists of 350 painted steel poles created in a time capsule concept that represent the homes in the neighborhood around Toledo’s Close Park. In the spring, residents of the neighborhood will fill the poles with drawings, poems, trinkets, and other memorabilia before the poles are permanently capped. The $70,000 public art project was funded by the city’s One Percent for Art program.
