PUT-IN-BAY, Ohio — State officials have suspended the Put-in-Bay Resort and Conference Center’s liquor permit for 20 days, starting just before Labor Day, in response to violations of public health orders related to the coronavirus.

The Ohio Liquor Control Commission found the business had created “a condition the presents a risk of illness” by “allowing persons to engage in disorderly activities” on or about June 27.

Put-in-Bay Resort, which features a pool with a swim-up bar among its permitted liquor establishments, denied that violations had occurred, but the liquor commission upheld the citation. The license suspension is scheduled to begin at noon on Sept. 4.

The matter was one of six for which the liquor commission announced rulings Monday. One case was dismissed, two other businesses received 20-day suspensions, and two resulted in shorter suspensions with fines offered as an alternative.
