Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields was named the Big Ten Conference’s top offensive player Wednesday on the second day of the league’s award announcements.

Fields received the Graham-George offensive player of the year award, the Griese-Brees quarterback of the year award, and was named to the All-Big Ten first team by both the league’s coaches and the media.

Through 12 games this season, Fields has completed 68.2 percent of his passes for 2,654 yards, 37 touchdowns and just one interception.

Fields is the second straight Ohio State quarterback to win the league’s top offensive honor (Dwayne Haskins last year) and the sixth Buckeye to collect the award in the last 13 years, joining running back Ezekiel Elliott (2015), quarterback Braxton Miller (2012 and 2013), and quarterback Troy Smith (2006). Overall, Ohio State has won the award nine times.

Joining Fields on the All-Big Ten first team offense by the coaches were running back J.K. Dobbins and guard Jonah Jackson. Dobbins also got first-team honors from the media, along with guard Wyatt Davis.

The Buckeyes had 10 players who earned All-Big Ten offensive honors from the coaches: Davis and tackles Braden Bowen and Thayer Munford were all voted to the second team; running back Master Teague, receiver Chris Olave, center Josh Meyers, and tight end Luke Farrell all earned third-team honors; and receiver K.J. Hill received honorable mention.

Eleven Ohio State players got All-Big Ten honors from the media. Myers, Jackson, and Munford received second-team honors. Teague, Olave, and Bowen received third-team honors, and Farrell and Hill were honorable mentions.

Michigan had 11 players honored by the Big Ten coaches. Guard Ben Bredeson and tackle Jon Runyan, Jr. were the first-team selections for the Wolverines. Center Cesar Ruiz earned second-team honors, and quarterback Shea Patterson and guard Mike Onwenu made the third team.

Getting honorable mention were running backs Zach Charbonnet and Hassan Haskins, tight ends Nick Eubanks and Sean McKeon, receiver Nico Collins, and tackle Jalen Mayfield.

The Wolverines had 12 players receive honors from the media: Bredeson and Runyan each earned first team honors, while Patterson, Charbonnet, and Ruiz all made the third team.

Getting honorable mentions were Ronnie Bell, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Collins, Eubanks, Haskins, McKeon, and Onwenu.

Defensive and special teams honors were announced on Tuesday. Ohio State coach Ryan Day was also named the Dave McClain coach of the year as voted on by the media, while Buckeyes defensive end Chase Young was named the Nagurski-Woodson defensive player of the year.
