Perry, Hill lift BGSU women to first MAC win

Bowling Green holds off Western Michigan, 72-63.

BOWLING GREEN — Angela Perry had 20 points and Mari Hill scored 16 as host Bowling Green State University defeated Western Michigan, 72-63, in a Mid-American Conference women’s basketball game on Wednesday night.

The Falcons had a 53-51 lead after three quarters, and put the game away with a 19-12 fourth quarter.

With the score tied at 62, Madisen Parker hit a 3-pointer with 2:47 remaining in game to put BGSU ahead for good.

Perry made a layup, and two free throws by Kadie Hempfling secured the victory.

Hempfling finished with eight points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists for the Falcons, who improved to 8-10 overall and 1-5 in the MAC.

The Broncos fell to 10-7, 3-3 in the MAC.

Bowling Green shot 52.1 percent (25-of-48) from the field, and made four of 11 3-point attempts.

The Falcons are back in action Saturday at Ohio.
