Lucas County Democrats endorse Gadus for District 3
Late endorsement necessary after incumbent Peter Ujvagi decided not to seek re-election.

The Lucas County Democratic Party announced it has endorsed Theresa Gadus for Toledo City Council’s District 3 race.
The party in March endorsed incumbent Peter Ujvagi, but the longtime politician announced last month that he would not seek reelection.
Ms. Gadus, 39, will face fellow Democrat Robert Worthington, 24, and Republican Glen Cook, 76, in the September primary. The top two vote-getters will advance to the November general election. District 3 represents East Toledo and the city’s Old South End.
Ms. Gadus is an educational interpreter for Toledo Public Schools, chair of One Voice for East Toledo, and is president of the Stonewall Democrats of Northwest Ohio.
“We are proud to endorse such a well-qualified candidate and know she will do a great job representing the residents of District,” Party Chairman Kurt Young said.
