It appears the city of Toledo will award all 200 available grants for owners of the city’s smallest businesses.

A city spokesman said 195 applications were completed as of Thursday afternoon for Emergency Microenterprise Grant Program funds. Eligible businesses must have five or fewer employees, including the owner.

The application window closes Sunday at midnight. The city announced this month it is awarding 200 grants of $5,000 using a portion of the $4.4 million it received from the federal government in the CARES Act.

The mayor said a lottery system will be used to award grants if more than 200 businesses apply and receive approval.
